UPDATE: City of Aiken playgrounds, tennis, basketball and pickleball courts are closed until further notice beginning Monday, March 23, 2020. Open space and trails remain open. Restrooms are closed. Please remember to follow social distancing guidelines and stay a minimal 6ft away from others.

Effective Monday, March 16, all non-essential activities, licensed and/or permitted events, athletic leagues and scheduled tournaments are cancelled or postponed, and recreation buildings will be closed to the public through March 31. These measures will be in effect within the specified time frame unless such directives are otherwise modified, amended, extended, or rescinded.

All of our outdoor parks will remain open for public leisure, though events held in our parks are not permissible.

Rescheduled dates of youth sports practices and leagues have not been determined at this time.

Refunds will be issued for any rental or activity registration that is canceled and is not rescheduled.

Memberships and Passes will be extended based on the number of days closed, for those applicable.

Staff are working during this time and will be available should you have any additional questions. Thank you for your assistance in keeping our community healthy.

Big announcement this morning! Eight S.C. arts organizations will benefit from grants just announced by the National Endowment for the Arts. SCAC Executive Director David Platts says:

"The South Carolina Arts Commission is delighted to hear that federal support is coming to these organizations and programming, all of whom are supported this fiscal year by state funding through Arts Commission grants. The combined support will ensure South Carolina citizens have access to and benefit from the highest quality arts experiences."
