Daily life in the old souks of Saida, Lebanon, where baskets and tables overflow with fresh fruits, spices and traditional handmade sweets. The markets sprawl over the streets and narrow alleyways, with plenty of opportunity for grabbing a quick bite or just getting lost for a while. THE MARISCOS OF MADRID: The Spanish eat more seafood than almost any other country on earth, and while you might assume the best fish and shellfish are found along the coast, Madrileños beg to differ. The landlocked Spanish capital is swimming with world-renowned fish markets and marisquerías serving pristine ocean-plucked treasures that will thrill any seafood lover. Writer @benjaminkemper steers us to the most unmissable seafood restaurants in Madrid, from rootsy seafood taverns to chic subway-tile-lined oyster bars. Link in bio. #forthecurious
REAL MADRID: Intermingling with central Madrid's 18th-century architecture and old-school espadrille shops, is a burgeoning class of galleries, coffee roasters and home stores, a true case of old-meets-new. Spend a morning lingering over Picasso's Guernica at the Reina Sofia, then stop for an espresso at Hola Coffee on your way to the NoguerasBlanchard gallery in Lavapiés to see contemporary work by Perejaume, followed by tapas and a glass of natural wine at Gota. Writer @enricpastor guides us through the capital city’s most exhilarating neighborhoods. Link in bio. #forthecurious

This week in PRIOR World: Madrid's star is rising, with neighborhoods like Lavapiés and Chueca attracting designers, curators and restaurateurs, who are at once bringing new life and melding with the established culture of the city center. And, is landlocked Madrid aiming to be the greatest seafood town in the world? Judging from the breadth of fish and crustaceans on offer in the countless marisquerías and an in-and-out sardine shack, it certainly seems that way. For what to do after dinner, see our after-dark guide to the music venues and cocktail bars that will take you into the very long night.

@mihailonaca explores Transylvania, the historic region of central Romania known for its medieval towns, castles, mountainous landscapes, and, of course, the legend of Dracula.

1. The eyes of Sibiu, added to the city's local houses in the 19th century as ventilation. Local lore says they were built to remind people they were being watched.

2. Morning walk in Sighișoara, a UNESCO-protected walled old town full of pastel-colored buildings, stony lanes, and medieval towers. #forthecurious
When Venice's crowds dwindle in winter, you can finally find a free table to enjoy aperitivo, from local bacari (wine bars) to more experimental cocktail bars. A negroni or a glass of red wine is always paired with the customary more-than-generous Venetian serving of nibbles.

For PRIOR's favorite addresses in Venice for aperitivo from our favorite in-the-know locals, visit the link in our bio.

@alixelay takes the Eastern & Oriental Express through Southeast Asia. The historic train takes passengers on a journey from Singapore, to Malaysia, and Thailand, the entire trip taking four days.

Green and gold carriages conceal interiors of cherrywood paneling, Thai silks, and Malaysian embroidery, framing views of cities, jungles, ancient temples, and villages as they pass by. #forthecurious
Dotted across the snow-covered mountains of the Italian Alps are 'rifugi', literally translated, refuges, offering weary skiers and snowboarders a place to stop and enjoy a tagliatelle in the sun at lunchtime. The Rifugio Punta Jolanda is found in the Aosta Valley above the town of Gressoney-La-Trinité with views over Monte Rosa and the slopes below. #forthecurious

PRIOR creative director, @conorwburke explores Seville in the Andalucía region of Spain, where orange trees frame buildings adorned with intricately-painted tiles and tapas are eaten at the counter in a crowded bar. Aristocratic mansions and palaces tell stories of the city's past as a New World trade metropolis in the 16th century and baroque details adorn the magnificent Alcázar of Seville. To learn more about traveling to Spain with PRIOR, contact our team at [email protected]. #forthecurious
Discovered through our hashtag #forthecurious: @pierlu__igi captures daily life in Venice, the so-called Floating City. From a peaceful scene in Piazza San Marco, to locals making their daily commute "a piedi" (by foot), and the gulls that call the city's canals home, bits of life can be found here around every corner during the city's quieter moments.
A STARTER GUIDE TO GROWER CHAMPAGNE: Unlike bubbly from France’s big houses (which churn out millions of bottles per year), a category known as grower Champagne is produced in smaller batches by the same people who grow the grapes. They’re Champagnes with a sense of place (and from a specific microregion), and some of the most interesting and delicious bottles you can drink. Our PRIOR guide includes 5 recommended (and giftable) bottles. Link in bio. #forthecurious
Discovered through our hashtag #forthecurious: @victo_somewhere explores the taverna scene in Paros, Greece. Far less populated than the nearby party islands of Santorini and Mykonos, Paros is a preferred destination for those seeking charming villages, local cuisine, multiple week stays on the Aegean. A short 15-minute ferry ride lands you on the off-the-radar beaches of Antiparos island, another reason to favor Paros as a home base.

PRIOR offers personalized travel planning, one-off experiences, and a calendar of exclusive events for our club members. As cultural experts, we identify what is unique and authentic about a place, and weave this through every moment of a journey.

This week in PRIOR World: London's Mayfair neighborhood is having a moment—and its most recent buzzy openings are far away from the madding crowd. Then, the festive and perennial mad dash for Champagne at this time of year inspired our guide on 'Grower Champagnes' to drink now. And finally, in addition to its preservation of the old, Milan’s embrace of the new has never been more evident—including in its pastry shops or pasticcerie. CHECKING IN & OUT: HACIENDA ALTAGRACIA: Adventuring Costa Rica's rich, rolling, and lesser traveled agricultural inland, and spending time at the brand new water-focused spa (the largest spa in all of Central America) are what visitors will come to Auberge's new Hacienda AltaGracia resort for. The 180-acre property in the Pérez Zeledón mountains opened this month and offers 50 casitas, a nature-focused wellness program which includes in-river massages, local clay treatments, and maderoterapia (holistic wood therapy), and a local-minded ethos overall. 7 PLACES TO SEE SOME OF THE WORLD'S MOST BEAUTIFUL TILES: World civilizations have been decorating with tiles for some 6,000 years—from awe-inspiring mosaics in Ottoman-era mosques to Portugal’s celebrated 'azulejos', muraled floors greeting visitors in London’s art institutions to the beguiling kaleidoscope of Moorish mosaics in Spanish palaces. Interior designer, tile obsessive and founder of Balineum, a UK-based bathroom design co, Sarah Watson (@sarah_balineum) shares some of the best on display around the globe today. Some of the best moments in Mexico City happen outside on the city blocks. Join us in Mexico City's Condesa neighborhood for our signature Art Deco walk. The leafy Colonia Hipódromo area has its own distinct vibe, with period architecture, idyllic gardens, and notable restaurants that this private tour, led by an architect, explores. Founded in 1926 by Mexican architect José Luis Cuevas Pietrasanta, the neighborhood holds an important place in Mexico City’s development during the first half of the 20th century, and contains the largest concentration of Art Deco buildings and houses in the city. The rugged, mountainous countryside of Kyrgyzstan (officially the Kyrgyz Republic) has some ideal terrain for sheep farming. Bordered by Kazakhstan to the north, Uzbekistan to the west, Tajikistan to the south, and China to the east, landlocked Krygyzstan is crossed by several mountain ranges, glaciers, and rivers which create striking valleys between the mountains. Almost half of the land in the country is dedicated to pasture for livestock, and since the era of the trading caravans of the Great Silk Road, local sheep have adapted to the diverse climate conditions. #forthecurious

Discovered through our hashtag #forthecurious: @pierlu__igi catches last light in the Dolomites. Spanning across the northeastern border where Italy meets Austria, through the Italian provinces of Belluno, South Tyrol, and Trentino, the range is a popular spot for hikers and photographers alike. The dramatic peaks here get their distinct color from a mix of limestone and dolostone (otherwise known as dolomite), a striking backdrop year-round.

This week in PRIOR World: A GIFT WORTH SAVING. We start by meandering the narrow cobbled streets of Florence with @amberguinness for the best shops and botteghe. It's a guide to the city's great crafts including paper, silk, and leather.
