I want to thank Alessia for an amazing experience from Beyond The Plate Food Tours. Our staff loved every minute of our experience. A big shout out to toast, kitchen Tex Mex, B2 Bistro + Bar and sugar rush for a delicious experience. Everyone was so friendly and very accommodating as there were some dietary restrictions. We couldn’t have asked for a better way to spend our Time together as a team.

For all our new followers, I’m Alessia, owner and operator of @beyondtheplatefoodtours .
When I’m not running tours myself (thanks to my amazing tour guides @foodiefilmsmedia and @its.melissad), I try to travel as much safely possible.
I am NOT🙅🏻‍♀️a big cold weather fan, but given the chance to visit an old friend in the lovely land of Canada, I took it. We did a cooking class with @dirty_apron focused on seafood and it was EXCELLENT! Highly recommend if you’re in the area.
Definitely eating super well here. Incredibly fresh seafood, chef-driven restaurants, locally sourced ingredients and limited but well executed menus.

Fav so far? The Arctic char sashimi with leche de Tigre at @nightingalerest (📸last photo).

First time eating at @carlitos_tacos @smorgasbar location….

And it was 🔥 🔥 🔥. I think Kyle and I tried every single taco!

My favs? The sweet plantain quesataco (sweet n savory is my thing), and the brisket quesataco. But honestly I’d reorder all of them.

This barbecue taqueria is def worth checking out. PLUS, epic views of #NYC, and seriously stellar cocktails made with real juices inspired by Latin American flavors.

June 24th, 2019 I took a massive leap of faith in transitioning from 5 years as Jersey Girls Food Tours to a solopreneur of Beyond the Plate Food Tours. Eight months later, Covid hit. Tours were put on hold for almost 4 months, and once we reopened in July, tour capacity was at 50%.
.
It has not been an easy journey but I'm so grateful to be here on the other side of this, still running tours, seeing your smiling faces, supporting local food and drink businesses! I really wouldn't be here without the resilient partners I work with, my team, my sponsors, and of course ... YOU, reading this right now.

I wasn't able to pull off the big party I would have wanted to this year to celebrate this anniversary (def next year though!), but we still made it special :) Thank you to @andcowork for allowing me a space to gather some of my current local JC restaurant partners, and close friends & fans for some eats, drinks and CAKE!
