"Pressures to Shift Euthanasia Beyond Physician Assisted Suicide in the Netherlands"
The Undergraduate Bioethics Society, together with The Department of Bioethics, will host Bioethics Day on Monday, October 28th. They are bringing to campus Gerrit Kimsma, MD. Dr. Kimsma is a Dutch general practitioner who has been deeply involved in the development and regulation of euthanasia in the Netherlands. Euthanasia has traditionally been performed only by physicians. Now, however, citizens' groups are pressing for more control over the process, largely excluding physicians. Dr. Kimsma will discuss this movement on Monday, October 28th, 2013 in DeGrace 312. Reception 4:00pm-4:30pm, talk 4:30pm-5:30pm. Please join us for this stimulating discussion.
