A top Thai lawyer has gone online to give advice to passengers about their rights when flights in Thailand are delayed.
Ratchaphon Sirisakhorn was referring to legislation issued in 2010 that protects passengers' rights on domestic travel on Thai carriers.
He said that when flights are delayed as much as 5-6 hours the airline must give each passenger 600 baht before they get on the aircraft.
If the delay exceeds six hours then they must pay you 1,200 baht and give you a night in a hotel.
Shorter delays like 2-3 hours mean the airlines must provide food and drink as compensation and allow free communication.
Delays over three hours mean people can get full refunds or change destination airports without incurring financial penalties.
If the destination airport is a cheaper fare they are entitled to a refund of the difference.
The rules apply to domestic passengers who have paid for flights in which the passenger has already checked-in.
Ratchaphon said that this kind of compensation was something that passengers didn't really want to think about due to the frustration of delays but was available nonetheless.

Phra Nang Beach (not to be confused with nearby Ao Nang) is the southern strip of sand in Railay Bay. With 450 metres in length, and reachable in a mere 20-minute long-tail boat trip directly from Ao Nang, or by foot from Railay East (about 10-minute walk) if you are already on the peninsula, it is more popular and busier than Railay West during high season (Nov- April).

Look to the sky on the 12 August
Right across the country you will be able to view Perseids meteor shower, it takes place after midnight of Sunday August 12 until Monday morning if the sky is clear and free of clouds.
Mr Suparoerk Karuhanon, chief of astronomical service of the National Astronomical Research Institute, said that the meteor shower can be seen with naked eyes and, during the peak, there will be about 110 shooting stars per hour.
Perseids meteor shower is made of tiny space debris from comet Swift-Tuttle. The Perseids are named after the constellation Perseus. They are widely sought after by astronomers and stargazers because most years at its peak, one can see 60-100 meteors in an hour from dark place.

Possibly the rarest sign you will ever see in Thailand
Check your change it could be worth a mint.
Collectors are are willing to pay THB140,000 in cash to anyone who possess the rare B.E. 2505 one-baht coin.
This particular one-baht coin was produced as an example lot in 1962. There are about 100 coins like this in existence. They are unique because the crown on one side of the coin points directly at the Yor Yak alphabet above it.
After the first lot, about 800 million coins of the same model were produced, but the text above the crown shifted, so the crown points at the blank space between two letters, and sorry, it's worth 1 Baht.

Arrested for finding money in Thailand – Helpful hints on staying safe in Thailand
What to do if you find money or valuables in Thailand that do not belong to you?
In Thailand like many other countries in the world, if you find cash or someone else’s valuables and do not report it to the police you could be imprisoned and fined.
It states under the Thai Criminal Code; Section: 0334 - 0336/2
Section 334. Theft
Whoever dishonestly takes away any property of another person or which the other person to be co-owner to be said to commit the theft, shall be imprisoned not more than three years and fined not more than six thousand Baht.
So there you have it, staying on the right side of the law may simply be as easy as walking away from someone else's bling.

Another reason why men should not carry Man Bags
Bangkok police have arrested a man from Chaiyaphum for allegedly stealing from victims who were answering the call of nature in men’s room of a large shopping mall in Ratchadamri.
Lumpini police chief Pol Colonel Akkarawut Thanirat said Sahachart Rasameeduan, was accused of stealing from at least two men while they were sitting on the toilet, leaving their bag hung on a hanger on the wall behind them.
Akkiarawut said the suspect climbed over the wall of an adjacent toilet room and reached down to steal hanging bags while his victims were looking forward, unaware of what was happening behind them.
Police seized from the suspect two mobile phones, an iPad, some clothes and a pair of Adidas sneakers. (The question is how the hell did he get the sneakers? Lol)
