Let us give you some information about kharpocho fort available in Skardu
[1] Skardu Fort or Kharpocho
(Balti: Kharfcho Urdu: Qala-e-Skardu) means (King of the Fort) which is a fort in the city of Skardu in the Gilgit-Baltistan region of Pakistan. Australian climber and filmmaker Greg Child writes that the fort is "above the confluence of rivers" and overlooks the Rock of Skardu.
The fort was built by King Ali Sher Khan Anchan in the late sixteenth century.
[2] General Zorawar Singh of the Dogra Rajput tribe, working under Maharaja Gulab Singh, realized the importance of the fort's location in the town and took possession of the fort. It was part of several military campaigns to annex Baltistan to the state of Jammu and Kashmir.
[3] The fort was demolished in 1857 under the guidance of Ranbir Singh. The Mughal emperor Aurangzeb also tried to capture the fort, which was in vain.
