🎉🎉Celebrating 23 years in business 🎉🎉

This Saturday July 31st 2021 we want to thank you for all the support and friendship throughout the years!

**€1 Tea and Coffee all day Saturday**

We have met some amazing people over the years and developed many friendships with people from near and far.

Many great memories have been made in Fore Abbey Coffee Shop over the years from bringing the first Vintage Tractor, Vintage Car and Honda 50 runs to Fore Village.

Over ten years of fundraising for Alzheimer Society of Ireland alongside great friends.

If you have any memories from over the years that you would like to share with us we would love to hear them! ⬇️

Well done to all involved. And to my wonderful mother for all you’ve done for Fore and getting it on the map❤️❤️

Fore; the little Village with the Big Heart #westmeath #pride #Community

Hailstones; three days of thinking it had a Mediterrain coastline and Fore reverted to form. Just in time for the "Pride of Place Award" from that amazing team in Westmeath County Council's community section.
The certificate reads: this certificate is presented to place on formal record our admiration of your selfless community work and to honour you for your visible Pride of Place in your County.
Last year The Fore Heritage and Amenity Group- a national award winner went forward again to represent the community- this time in its efforts to support tourism in the area.
Chairperson Cllr Frank McDermott and Jane o'Reilly accepted the award on behalf of the community.
"I am grateful for the opportunity to accept this on behalf of the community of Fore, " said Frank, "This is a special place, theres no doubt about it- its steeped in history and beautiful. But what makes it extraordinary are the people that live here; from our youngest right through to our most experienced, they are a community that asks what do we need, how can we help, what can each of us do to create a place where everyone is welcome and everyone belongs.

"If you had been in Fore at the weekend," he continued, you would have been amazed by all the families, the young and the old, gathering in a place and a space that was safe for them. Because of community effort, supported by Westmeath County Council we can now share our extraordinary little place with better and safer access for all. We have an ambitious plan for the next decade that includes continuing to develop this looped walk to benefit the community, drive tourism for the area and hopefully ensure that everyone, those who live here and those who visit find a place where they belong and can enjoy happiness and peace. "

Our thanks to the team in Westmeath County Council especially Mary Egan who supported the group throughout the adjudacation process and helped prepare us for the national awards. Thanks also to Ann Marie Nash and Annette Barr Jordan for their amazing vision and ambition for rural communities like ours. They are incredibly patient with their time and support.

This is another time that we have not been able to celebrate together- but we would love pics of everyone in Fore to make a big album of us celebrating together. (Apart obviously)
