Something new for this season. FOOD TOUR!
If you travel somewhere I think that its really important to get to know the culture and culinary. Albania has to offer a lot. As a country in the heart of the Mediterranean sure our culinary culture it's very rich.
I give you the opportunity to taste really tasty Albanian traditional food in a very original way.
We will go to visit a local market, where the local farmers sell their products. To see how they sell the products, ( majority of them, still use old ways of farming, without pesticides, which makes the fruits and vegetables more tasty).
Then we will go in a restaurant frequented mostly by the locals and we will taste 5-7 different traditional dishes. Sure, we will make some Vine tasting, and Rakia tasting too.
I will explain for each dish the cooking process, and answering your questions.
The tour fee its 13 Euro and includes everything.
This will be a daily tour!

Visit the secret tunnels of Enver Hoxha’s communist regime.
From the end of World War Two Albania was the subject of a paranoid government. Its people lived in fear of an invasion from “the American capitalists”. This heightened state of the security led to thousands of tunnels being dug deep into the hills surrounding Berat.
They housed weapons, offices and emergency shelters for the country’s elite and powerful. People from surrounding towns and villages were forced to construct them, if they refused they would be subject to imprisonment, along with their family.
The perceived threat from the USA is no longer something that Albanians live in fear of, and the tunnels are home to bats and the occasional mountain goat, but certainly no weapons or soldiers.
We’ll take a taxi to the tunnels, (From city center 10 min drive) a few kilometres outside the city. From there we’ll explore them, talk about the history, life during communism and how Albania has changed, how was to find a girlfriend, where peoples worked and how they did manage to listen and watch secretly European channels, which was strictly denied. We’ll enter a network of tunnels that extend around two kilometres below Albania’s mountains and see where the former communist regime stored its weapons.
From there we will go in a nice coffee shop and enjoy a coffee and speak about Berat Today.
Bring sensible shoes, water and a camera!
The tour fee its 9 Euro, and includes transport with taxi, refreshment, and a coffee at the end of the tour.
Starting hour? Well I start the tours usually at 09:00 am but If you would like to start earlier or later just let me know I am flexible :)
