Tanama Tours started in 1971. The first adventurers were members of the Peace Corps and students from the University of Puerto Rico. Sublime, natural, surreal... In Tanamá will enjoy the most unforgettable trekking adventures that any walker could do in the Caribbean. Before reaching the first huge tunnel over 400 meters long of more than 10 million years, you've gone through an immense forest of bamboo, Taino graves and petroglyphs. That tunnel is called Urayoán, in honor of the great Cacique (Cacique is the way we call the Taíno Indian Chief), who defeated the Spanish soldiers in 1511. From the peak of the Mount Turey, you can enjoy the great views from the top of the huge forest of haystacks of Puerto Rico by the largest observatory in the world to reach the greatest classic Caribbean arc. Your impressions will be so immense that you'll want to return and get lost in this Paradise. Over 47 kilometers of trails where our Indians left their footprints, is set back 3.000 years to the origin of Puerto Rico, petroglyphs, graves everywhere, and Taino navigation gigantic tunnels.
