Ceremonial opening of playground equipment donated to urban children park Ampara by Rotary Club of Flemington-Kensington Australia coordinated through the Rotary Club of Colombo upon a request of the Rotary Club of Ampara.

Muhudu Maha Viharaya is one of the prominent Buddhist temple situated in Potuvil near wide beach. It is believed that the temple was built under the reign of king Kavantissa's more than 2000 years ago.
