Talbot is a former race horse. He won his first and only race. He was retired @whisperingmeadowsranch due to a condition that was causing him joint pain in the legs. He was in training to be placed as a pleasure horse where he could enjoy a life after the track with a caring family when he was hit with a very severe case of colic (which is the number one killer among horses). Over the next few weeks endless hours and sleepless nights were spent in efforts to rehabilitate him and help him recover but it was a very long road. Talbot survived and all due to the efforts of Whispering Meadows Ranch and their dedicated staff and volunteers. Talbot grew very fond of those who helped him and decided that he wanted this to be his home and here he stands at our ranch, ready to treat our clients to a breathtaking adventure in Wine Country. When you visit us, ask if you can take a photo with Talbot or maybe you will be lucky enough to get him as your mount. Please share on your story, or tag someone that loves horses. Today we said goodbye to Tow Mater. This was one of the hardest things to do but knew it was time to let him go. He was so very special to many, gave comfort and joy to anyone who touched him.
