D&D Moving & Storage

Thanks for 2 wonderful moves this month. Our move today was awesome thanks to Jimmie and Joe!!
Best movers ever! Thanks to Dan's crew for their hard work. They went over and beyond with helping us get in our new home. Would highly recommend.
You guys are so awesome you came in and moved us without any problems at all. You were so professional so efficient and so personable. They wrapped all of our furniture and took extra care with my piano. We have used 2 men and a truck in the past and they were good but you guys went a step further. I recommend you to everyone that needs professional movers! Thank you all so much. Neil folley
On behalf of my family and I, we want to thank our 5 guy crew today. We were so impressed with their work effort! They were so pleasant and friendly and went above and beyond our expectations. We don't plan on moving for a long time; but if we have to, D & D will be our choice again!
Another great moving day from the D and D crew! Packed up my sister-in-law, Donna's, home and off to Florida! Already there today, Sunday. Thanks for taking care of our family, once again!

A huge thank you to D&D Moving and Storage. They kindly let us use the truck to move to our new location in Avon Lake.

[01/29/15]   We understand that an out-of-state relocation can take more planning and preparation than the typical move. If there’s anything beyond the transportation we can do to make your move easier, please feel free to ask.

[01/27/15]   Moving. The word can make you think of broken possessions and frustration. Well, you can limit both by choosing a secure, smooth ride in a storage container. You pack to your own liking and then the shipping is done on trailers designed to ride as smooth as possible.

[01/22/15]   Moving soon but you don’t own a truck or have a friend who does? A storage unit can be brought to your home, loaded at your own pace, and then sent to either a storage facility or your new home. You can avoid the “no truck” blues!

[01/20/15]   Did you know that the concept of the moving industry has been around since the 1800s? It was largely focused around the expansion of the intercontinental railroads, and, at the turn of the century, resulted in the introduction of covered wagons meant specifically for moving household goods.

[01/15/15]   We understand that there’s more to a move than just physically moving your belongings to a new location. Let us handle the move so you can deal with all the other relocation errands.

[01/13/15]   A great way to handle your rugs and drapes on moving day is to take them to the dry cleaners ahead of time. When you pick them up, leave them in the wrappings, and they will be fresh and ready to hang/spread in your new home.

[01/08/15]   Planning an upcoming move? Try to avoid buying a large quantity of groceries in the weeks before your departure. By consuming all or most of the food items you have on hand, you can avoid wasting food and money.

[01/06/15]   Does having to move your belongings always give you a sense of stress? Since relocating an office can be more complicated than a home, we’re always here to take some of this stress off your shoulders.

[01/01/15]   Whether it's a crib, changing table, or rocking chair, babies can mean a lot of specialty furniture that's good to store for when a friend or sibling has their own baby in the near future. A storage container allows you to conveniently store them on your own time, then get them delivered to your friend when they need them.

[12/30/14]   When your packing toiletries or liquid cleaning supplies, cover the openings with saran wrap, then put the tops back on. This will keep them from breaking and leaking all over your other possessions during the move.

[12/25/14]   Are you looking to put items in a storage container and don’t know where to start? Group like items together and use this time to throw away old items or unneeded items. Donate or sell items in good condition but that you no longer need or want.

[12/23/14]   Are you moving from one home or office to another location and need a place to store belongings in the interim? A storage container provides a great option for this, especially if you’re downsizing locations but not belongings, or if you’ve come into a quantity of possessions and have limited space.

[12/18/14]   Need to move long distance? That can be a challenge- after all, there is no easy way to go back and forth to get your things as you are ready for them. A storage container will save the day- name the size you need (or more than one) and fill it while you pack. Then the company moves it for you.

[12/16/14]   Moving can be a daunting and arduous process. Ease some of that work by packing what you don’t need and keeping it in storage until you are ready to have those possessions in your new home. This works especially well if you have seasonal, delicate, or holiday items.

[12/11/14]   One of the great reasons to use a storage container is because of the security aspect. Once you've packed it and locked it, it stays locked during transport and storage until you open it again, letting you rest assured that your items are safe.

[12/09/14]   In addition to making a list of what is being packed, make room lists as well. Start by forming two lists, one for your current place and one for your future place. This will help you manage what needs to go where.

[12/04/14]   Though sometimes a move comes upon you unexpectedly, often, you have weeks or months to plan. To relieve stress, get organized. You can start by making a list of all tasks that need to be done and dividing them up into weeks.

[12/02/14]   When moving with kids, there are a number of things you can do to ease the transition. Consider getting a book on moving for smaller kids, let children pick their room if appropriate, let them pick a decoration or paint color for their new room, and maybe even have them pick out a special outfit to wear on “move in” day.

[11/27/14]   When you have an upcoming corporate move, advance planning is everything. Our team has the ability to plan and execute a moving plan that will allow you to focus on running your business.

[11/25/14]   When you are moving, chances are you have a lot you want to get rid of, sell, or donate so that you don’t have to worry about carting it to your new home. If you have friends helping you pack or move, consider giving them first dibs on these items. It’s a great way to know your possessions are going to a good home!

Mobile Uploads

[11/20/14]   Moving can be expensive, especially with all the packing materials you have to buy. One way to save money in this area is to wrap your breakables in soft clothing instead of bubble wrap. This way you are packing your clothes and kitchenware at the same time!

[11/18/14]   Most of the items in your home are meant to be indoors, rather than in cars. That means they can be hard to fit in your vehicle, possibly leading to damage. Using a storage container means you have room for the items and any padding material to protect them.

[11/13/14]   Container storage is optimal for long-term storage or to store items for a set period of time. For instance, when moving from one home or office to another location and for when everything must be stored until the second location is ready for occupancy.

[11/11/14]   One of the greatest frustrations in packing is not remembering what is in a box once it is sealed. You can make unpacking much easier by keeping a detailed list of the contents of each box or bin.
