Prayers and hope that Notre Dame is restored to full glory! Paris...reportedly the most visited city in the world...on a whole different level from Norfolk. That being said, what landmarks/icons do you value most in Norfolk-VA Beach? The region while old for US has lost much architecture in the past due to fires (VA Beach Hotel, city of Norfolk lost in the Revolutionary War) & local gov't decisions (trading a "grand" Monticello hotel in Norfolk for the Fed Gov't building on Monticello in 76').

Beat 'em or join 'em? Or, just be complacent with Norfolk/VB/Wburg?
abc11.com For the third year in a row, Raleigh made the top three cities for the best quality of life in the world according to Numbeo.com.
Hey, Norfolk/VA Beach/Wburg! Do you beat 'em or join 'em (move to Ral-Dur)? Raleigh continues to innovate with job industry, food scene (2 market halls in Raleigh alone not including C Hill or Durham, local chocolate makers, food truck rodeos downtown, etc), well designed museums (top of line Marbles Children's museum), some of the best local universities, great outdoors activities (plenty of running/biking trails & parks for kids), etc, etc. OR, can Norfolk/VB innovate and create it's own unique identity (balls in your court ORF/VB...can people support gems like 5 Points Community Farm Market before they close...can local bureaucracy get out of the way & allow creativity to flourish...AS AN EXAMPLE...FACT..."Visit Norfolk" & "VB Visitors & Convention Bureau" recruited DC Food Tours (a chain organization) to make their own parroted version of a food tour that eats at tourist traps such as The Freemason Abbey...some of the worst food in Norfolk...perhaps my opinion...nah...just bad food in a historic building. Real people will never see the "real" Norfolk/VB that has a "soul" if the same people with no clue or original ideas continue to manage both cities. Good luck in 2019...try to strive for better.

Close by Raleigh Durham Chapel Hill (a metro area of similar size) has been making advances and creating clever cultural, artistic, and culinary destinations such as the "Morgan St Food Hall." Where do you feel Norfolk-VB-Wburg is at when it comes to creativity?
morganfoodhall.com Morgan Street Food Hall is a new lifestyle dining concept; not to be confused with a food court. It features local eateries and restaurants as well as local food retailers. Morgan Street Food Hall introduces the concept of cross meal ordering, where different meals are enjoyed in a shared seating ar...
Hey, Hampton Roads folks (ORF/VB, Wburg)....so....overall do you feel satisfied with the progress of the region? Or, do you feel that regional leaders could use more creativity and motivational drive in terms of creating a job market and cultural environment that competes with similar sized regions or other close metro regions such as Charlotte, DC, Raleigh-Durham, or Richmond?
Fast forward to 1:00 for highlights...regardless of political leaning...good message. Applied to Norfolk/VA Beach....don't ask what the cities can do for you (I mean hopefully they are doing something), but what can you do to make ORF/VB a better place? What mark will you leave for future generations?
