New York City is even more gorgeous during the Holidays. Don't believe us? Take a look.
.
Set among 5,000 feet of lighting, the Pulitzer Fountain in front of The Plaza Hotel has been decorated with 32 locally-made animal sculptures - penguins, polar bears, flamingoes - and 24 icebergs. Animated to dance in circles, this beautiful holiday display is designed to let us know that Fifth Avenue has come back from Covid-19.
.
Keep heading down 5th Avenue, and you'll see there's even more to marvel at! Oversized Toys decorated in tinsel and lights? Yes please! Strolling, shopping and admiring holiday windows and displays are what make visiting NYC so special at this time of year, and 5th Avenue is the place to do it.

This week we're celebrating the return of @nycwff by enjoying the reopening of the @essexmarket!
.
The Essex Market began as a covered market in 1818, and now today it is still a unique collection of diverse vendors and food stalls making for a very unique and fun foodie experience. Located in the heart of the lower East Side, this food hall is full of iconic local eats and treats. Grab a coffee at @portoricoimportingco , some pastelitos at @dominicancravingsnyc , or get a steak at Luis Meat Market to create a delicious dinner at home.

It's , where we feature things, spaces, and places that you experience only in New York. Today we're exploring the series of mammoth outdoor origami statues entitled Hacer:Transformations by the American artist Hacer.
.
These totally cool metal structures bring color and fun to Broadway in the Garment District. Just when you thought folding paper into animal shapes was an engineering feat, Hacer has done that transformative process but with metal and on a huge scale!

Finally after "practicing, practicing, practicing" and knowing how to get there, Carnegie Hall has reopened and started its new season!
.
Since it opened in 1891, Carnegie Hall has set the international standard for musical excellence and has been the aspirational destination for the world’s finest artists. Yet another NYC cultural institution is back in business, which is 🎶🎶 to our ears!

There are many places you can "whisk away to" without leaving The Big Apple. One of our favorites is @governorsisland.
.
Governors Island makes for a great "whisk away" because in under 10 minutes by ferry from Manhattan or Brooklyn, you can enjoy this former military base that has been turned into a 172-acre island escape with no traffic, minimal crowds and incredible skyline views. Walk or bike around the island's perimeter, pack a picnic, or pick up snacks from a food truck to dine al fresco, as well as check out an ever-changing range of art exhibits and installations around the island. And guess what - as of this year, Governors Island is open all year-round!
