Operating as usual
Another wonderful experience as part of the international membership of SKAL. My company operated a women’s Caucasus tour that began in Baku,Azerbaijan. We invited a member of SKAL BAKU to meet with us. Here is Ellada Aliyeva who spoke to us elegantly about women and life generally in Baku. What a charming and fascinating speaker!
We donated to their scholarship fund for a young woman entering our industry.
From now on, we will search for interesting speakers like Ellada to enhance our tours.
I’m in Baku Azerbaijan with a group from my company. Contacted SKAL Baku and they offered to send a speaker to address us. Another wonderful benefit of the international network of friends.

Our first in person meeting in 15 months. Not our first meeting; we had the most fabulous line up of travel experts and marketing gurus throughout the Pandemic. Here is a video of our fabulous home: New York City, filmed by Iris Salazar, former President of our chapter. And excellent Director of this video.
Highlights of our first in-person gathering in 15 months as we celebrated Skal NY Past Presidents. A huge thanks to John Ruzich, Betty, and their family for hosting this wonderful party at their lovely home in NJ. Many thanks to Czech Tourism rep gave lovely goodie bags; Dean Fenton of Antigua Tourism for delighting us with his beautiful poetry and gifts; and Greg Marshall for indulging us with a generous supply of fine wine. As always, it was great time among friends, delicious food, and lots of laughter. Great job Wayne and Olena. Skal!
Finally an in person meeting. It felt like a reunion of old pals. Thank you John Ruzich and your wife for hosting this event. And thank Croatian Tourism for the Croatian lavender and other goodies, Finger Lakes Tourism for lunch time wines during Dean Fenton’s elegant Antiguan poetry reading. And Croatian Premium Wine Imports take home white wine packaged with a recyclable bottle from again Antigua. If you are in the area, join our active group of travel professionals.
