Walking around with friends from London. McSorley's Old Ale House always takes the best picture.
The Irish Hunger Memorial in Battery Park City in fall bloom. It sits on a "quarter acre" of land and that is a real Irish renters house on the horizon.
Top Of The Rock
A fun family from the Bay Area wanted to learn about Irish Immigration in NY. We found some 200 year old churches and an 200 year old home right around the corner. The Yesterday and Today's Immigration tours are my favorites.
It will be a fun wedding!
Give a “short quirky” Washington Square Village tour to a Bachelorette Party - include a ghost story.
OK, Anderson Cooper’s ghost!
Gotta love being a tour guide in New York City.
Staten Island is at the top, Brooklyn on the left and Jersey City on the right. Beautiful photo.
I lived a block from the Hungarian Center for ten years back in the 80's!

Doyers Street at Bowery in 1915 and the same location today. The ladies are at the other end of Doyers 'around the bend' where the old long gone tong wars used to be fought for control of the street. The last big killing was in the 1930's with the Sunday opera house massacre. It is the only part of New York with any connection to the Five Points neighborhood of The Gangs of New York.
Enjoy this virtual tour of objects in the oldest intact house in NYC, the Tredwell House.

merchantshouse.org In 1835, wealthy merchant Seabury Tredwell purchased this house in the fashionable residential neighborhood known as the Bond Street area, and moved in with his wife, Eliza, their seven children, and four Irish servants. It was the family’s home for almost 100 years. Gertrude, the Tredwells’ eig...
A family of four from Bahrain taking photos at Grand Central Terminal the other day. The main concourse is decorated for Christmas. GCT is our best known secret in New York! It was built in 1913 by the NY Central Rail Road and thrives today as a destination and travel hub.
A fun midtown tour with a lady from Australia who found her Portuguese tarts at Rockefeller Center..
Summer tours are becoming Fall tours. Here are some recent friends from all over the world.
This is the third year Wim and Dutch folks have been in NY for ten mile or longer walks around the five boroughs led by Craig and I. Here is my last weekend's walk through Long Island City, Greenpoint, and Williamsburg and into the Lower East Side.
Did you ever hear of walking over the Triborough Bridge? You start in Queens, go to Randall's and Ward's Island located in Manhattan and then you walk into The Bronx! Thank you Craig Nunn and Wim Kuipers of Walking with Wim fame. What a great walk followed with lunch at a Bronx hotspot!
Having fun on Summer Time Tours, 2019
A great group from Oregon and California were in town last week and we had four separate walks together going from Greenwich Village and the Meatpacking district to the High Line Park and newly opened Hudson Yards. Plus a walk around Brooklyn Heights and a Lower East Side Immigrant’s tour. Here are some photos along the way.
Don't miss the Campbell Apartment when visiting Grand Central Terminal. Yesterday's group was right at home. I had a great time touring the building with you. Thank you.
WINTER PHOTO TOURS of Central Park. Great for young children and their parents.
Happy 2019
Here are some photos of myself and Graham from his recent tour of New York city. I hope you can make it back Graham, as we had such a good time seeing the sites!
Grand Central Terminal at Christmas time with a cool family from New Hampshire visiting the city kids. Lunch at the Oyster Bar followed.
I had a great two days with a couple from New Castle with NYC looking good this December. Every transit bus is wheelchair-accessible but the subways rate poorly on this account.
Jingle Bell Rock in the subway # Times Square 42nd Street had them dancing!
The best day of touring was when my good friend Ron Rice organized a top to bottom tour of the Woolworth building given by the building construction manager. We saw a small stream running through the dirt floor of the subbasement and of course here we are getting the bejesus blown out of us on the open air observation deck. Thanks Ron!
I had a nice group for a tour at Grand Central Terminal yesterday thanks to The Municipal Art Society.

A great blog on Soho, South Village and Washington Square with lots of photos.
forgotten-ny.com In August I went on a “ramble” from the Canal Street A/C/E subway up through SoHo, Greenwich Village, and the East Side, getting as far as East 59th where I caught the N train to Queens. I’m intending to chop up this walk, for which I got 128 photos, into a number of shorter pages in keeping w...
Some nice women from Richmond were a fun group here taking a winter history tour of Greenwich. Village. It is one of the city's oldest surviving neighborhoods, with every writer, musician and artist under the sun having lived here. We've had mayors and presidents too!
The “Walking With Wim” group from Holland was back in NYC last week. They made it to all 5 boroughs with two walks each given by Craig Nunn and myself. Thanks to Wim Kuipers for allowing us to spend time with the walkers and join in the fun. We had a great time!
Birthday tour of the lower east side with four ladies seen stoping on a closed Doyers Street near the 'old five points' before meeting hipsters on Division on our way to Delancey Street.
Nice hot morning on the Lower East Side around East Broadway, Pell and Doyers, and ending on Essex with friends from Peru on a Yesterday's and Today's Immigrants Tour
