[09/11/20] The Innkeeper is for sale. 16 years of memories! Time to move on to a skiing and fishing boat that goes fast. 👍🏻
My wife and I bought this boat new in 2003. It is a Novatec, and only two were made that year since the next year, the boat builder decided to build 42' boats instead. This is a lot of boat for 38' or 42" Length Overall depending on what you like to measure.
We took people out on a few charters but mostly used it for our own personal enjoyment. Since we are both retired now, we want to downsize to a day boat. We are motivated to sell since there is a lot of 2019 inventory out there to pick from between now and the end of the year. This boat will make a great live aboard for a couple or four people or is perfect for how we used it. Reach out to us at [email protected], or look at the pictures and what is written below to answer most of your questions.
This is a great year round boat since it has five air conditioners and heaters and you can be totally out of the elements if you want to be or have to be. That said all of the eisen glass opens up so that you are in an open, yet the
covered bridge that seats six comfortably, and a covered aft deck that has four teak chairs with plenty of room for more. The aft deck also has a sink, two large cabinets for the things you need while cruising or living on board for an extended period of time and while we do not have a refrigerator freezer out there, it is equipped with the plumbing and electrical to accommodate. The aft deck has beautiful blue indoor/outdoor carpet that also carpets the stairs to the bridge and then the bridge has the same carpet.
The swim platform is down a ladder from the aft deck and is just above the water level, equipped with a retractable ladder down into the water. The aft deck also has a hot and cold shower to rinse off when you get out of the water. The fresh water tank holds 200 gallons.
Going forward from the aft deck, you can walk all the way to the bow on the Port or Starboard sides. Six to ten people can hang out or layout on the bow if they want to. It has a windless, fully functional from pedals on the bow or from the bridge. It only takes the captain to drop or pull up the anchor. This is so awesome when the Captain and First Mate are a team taking a trip. A great boat for making the loop or cross state travel on the waterways.
From the bridge there is access to the sun deck just aft of the bridge for four people to lay out in the sun while anchored out. If you are adding up the people at this point, or not, what I can tell you is that sixteen is comfortable before we even talk about going down below.
Speaking of going down below, the door to the salon is on the aft deck and after going down four steps you are in the spacious salon. The boats beam is 13' 6" so there is plenty of room. The views in this room are a full 270 degrees.
There are windows both port and starboard and three full windows on a slant looking out over the bow.
There is a soft leather couch and layout couch extension so there you can enjoy cocktails, a full meal or elevate the table to full bar height to put out a cocktail or dinner buffet. Full bar height counter tops cause a natural break to the full galley and dinette. Down a few steps going forward the galley is to the port and has a three burner electric stove and an electric oven. The counter tops are Corian and there is an abundance of storage for food, china, glass and silverware, pots and pans. The boat is equipped with a blender, a K cup coffee maker, and everything that you would find in your own home kitchen. I can say that with authority as I have been in the Hotel, Food and Beverage Business for fifty years and the boat is not lacking anything equipment and utensil wise. There is a microwave if you have to reheat something or perhaps prefer this method of cooking. Also there is a propane gas grill for the outside that is large enough to cook for a lot of people.
Also there is a large double sink with a sprayer and a refrigerator/ freezer which is the right size for a week long trip if you ate out a few meals. All of the cabinets up and down are teak or cherry and add to the charm of the boat. The slanted cabin glass provide for a great mirro affect for those wanting to watch the food prep.
Just to the starboard of the galley is the dinette which seats four. There are cabinets all the way around this area, and one cabinet even has an AC duck in it to keep your wine at wine cellar temperature.
There are port and starboard port horizontal windows for cross air ventilation when you don't need the air conditioning. By the way, the Marine Air HVAC's are one on the bridge, the aft deck, the forward cabin, the salon and the aft cabin. Each has its own thermostatic controls.
Just forward of the salon and dinette area is the private V berth cabin which also has a full bath, equipped with granite counter tops, and a full stall shower that even has a very comfortable built in seat for the ladies that like to sit down to shave their legs. Centered in the ceiling is a hatch that opens to let in the fresh air should the AC not be required. There is plenty of closet and drawer space to accommodate your guests clothing and personal items.
Now moving to the aft cabin, which is just aft of the salon you will find a full size bed and lots of drawer and closet space for you and your spouse or partner. The cabin of course runs all the way across the width of the boat. This master cabin also has a full bath with granite counter tops as well and a full shower, minus the seat that the forward shower has. You can walk all the way around the bed easily and there is a hatch at the headboard end of the bed. The floor in this cabin as well as throughout all of the down below areas is teak and holly for that classic look. There are area carpets in all three down below spaces but not large enough to cover the beautiful hard woods. The boat also has a central vac system with all of the attachments making vacuuming easy.
Now for the technical and mechanical sides of things.
In the engine room there are two 275 horse Cumins diesels. One came with the boat and has 1100 hours on it and the other one is just five years old and has less than a hundred hours on it. There is a generator that powers everything on the boat when anchored out, including all five AC units. When cruising at 10 to 12 knots, the fuel burn rate is around 10 gallons per hour and the fuel tanks hold a total of 400 gallons.
The boat has been serviced by II Tony's Marine in Destin, FL and they have complete records of everything regarding the regular maintenance of the boat and engines. The engine room as an automatic system for changing the oil as it will suck the oil out of the engines and push into the engines the new fresh oil. Twin fuel separators, an invertor and five water filter system strainers are easy to get to. There are six house batteries and of course three batteries for starting the diesels.
The windless that I mentioned above has 200 feet of chain and rope to put out a good anchor line. The bridge's electronics include a Ray Marine Chart plotter, depth finder, and autopilot. It also of course has a radio for monitoring channel 16 or private conversations to other boats or land bases. The radio in the salon has Sirus XM, bluetooth, and is also a disc player and has a USB for your phone or other devise. The speakers on the bridge are Bose while the ceiling speakers in the Salon are JBL's. The 28 inch flatscreen is connected to an antenna, an apple TV and a DVD player.
Suffice it to say that there are life preservers and fire extinguishers up and down.
The boat is at the Marbella Yacht Club on the Harbor in Destin in a very nice deep water slip where it probably can stay if that is where you would want it to stay. It is a very safe location if you are thinking about storms as the docks are fixed in place on concrete pilings.
