Supporting Tour Guides During The COVID-19 Pandemic As international travel comes to a halt, tour operators are struggling to find innovative ways to offer support to freelance tour guides.

All About Boston is taking the coronavirus international health emergency very seriously and we have decided to suspend all tour operations for the next 2 weeks effective immediately. This course of action is being taken to protect the public and also our tour guides.

Our apologies for any cancellations and we ask for your understanding given the circumstances.

On July 30th, 1945, the USS CASSIN YOUNG was struck in a deadly Kamikaze attack off the coast of Okinawa. Although she did not sink, 22 US sailors lost their lives in the pre-dawn strike. Today, the names of those who perished were read aloud with each tolling of the bell to commemorate their service in sacrifice in the victory of World War II.

"Her deck, once red with heroes' blood,
Where knelt the vanquished foe,
When winds were hurrying o'er the flood,
And waves were white below,
No more shall feel the victor's tread,
Or know the conquered knee;—
The harpies of the shore shall pluck
The eagle of the sea!"

Friends, as we enter the hotter months of summer please take note of a few reminders: When the Heat Index reaches 87 degrees Fahrenheit we do prohibit climbing to the top of the Bunker Hill Monument as a safety precaution, as we did for the first time this year yesterday afternoon. Even if you report that you are from a state with much higher summer temperatures we will not be swayed!

Also keep in mind that when we have thunder and lightning storms (as in right now), we do close both the Bunker Hill Monument and USS CASSIN YOUNG for safety.

Thank you for your understanding!
