🚨 Plastic Bag Ban Begins September 1 🚨

On November 10, 2020, the Breckenridge Town Council passed Ordinance 20-37, which prohibits the point-of-sale distribution of disposable plastic bags and paper bags with less than 40% recycled material after September 1, 2021. It also continues a disposable bag fee of $.10 for paper bags only, which are required to contain more than 40% recycled material.

Just like with the current ordinance, customers are encouraged to bring their own reusable bags for shopping at grocery stores and other retail establishments.

Customers may be issued a single-use bag at the point of sale for a $.10 fee per bag, however, these bags will be paper with at least 40% recycled content, not plastic.

Customers can expect their to-go, takeout, and delivery containers to be packaged in paper bags, not plastic, and they will not be charged a single-use bag fee.

Tomorrow, Friday, January 3 Beck will be working on a mural at Maryland Creek Park. Stay tuned to his schedule while he is in Silverthorne here:
