Visit 1000 Islands

I’m a top fan !
Must see this beautiful part of the USA I love upstate in the fall
Campers, the 50% off promotion runs through Columbus day weekend. This is applicable to areas like 1000 islands that had flooding. Full details are at:
Had great day w/Matt & Matt on Clayton Island tours. We saw just about everything there was to see in the islands on just one trip & in about 4 hrs. Multiple ships(a total of 4 by the time we were done) the fellow said it was a record for them. Also, a training yacht for sailing, I do believe. 2 ships passed right under TI Bridge & did a special salute w/horns. Does anyone know what it was? I don't think it was just a hello, was 3 long & 1 short blast I think. Water was totally calm, beautiful sun & great temperature for Sept Day. Our tour on Rock Island was one hour but way too short, could have stayed til past dinner, but the boys had to get back. The greeter there told us they were expecting the 2 ships to pass, but we got much more than that. Thanks guys, it was great. Bev, you missed a fantastic day. I guess Mother nature didn't get the message that you had other very important stuff to do that day. Your Little Rock Island & veggie garden were great? A Doris sends regards & thanks, again.
Does anyone know a place that you can rent jet skis for an hour or so? Much appreciated!

Love to take pictures? Check this out! 📸👇🏼

Friends of MAC Nature Center invites you to participate in this week’s photo contest, “I Spy...”

The theme “I Spy...” encourages you to take a harder look at things you notice outdoors. By being more observant than usual, you may see things that you’d normally overlook, like a camouflaged animal, a contrast in two different tree sizes, or an unusually fluffy patch of moss.

The photo contest winner will have their picture featured on our page. All ages are welcome to play! There will be a different winner in the adult and child division.

In order to play, you must:
• Take a picture of something in nature that you notice outside this week
• For adults, post your picture to Instagram using the hashtags: #macnaturecenter #ispy
• For children, post your picture to Instagram using the hashtags: #macnaturecenter #ispy #juniornaturalist
• Tag @friendsofmacnaturecenter on your picture submission on Instagram
• Follow @friendsofmacnaturecenter on Instagram
• Follow and like @MACNatureCenter on Facebook
• Post your pictures following all of these guidelines on April 4th before 12:00 pm EST

Winners will be announced on April 5th! Enjoy your time outdoors and please share this fun opportunity with others!

Yum, perfect for a rainy Monday! 😋 #supportlocal

Dark Island Spirits was approached by both Congresswoman Eliese Stefanik and NYS Assemblyman Mark Walczk to assist in the battle against the Covid-19 outbreak.

With our ability to produce 192 proof alcohol in-house, we have been asked to convert our production to Hand Sanitizer. We currently use New York State Grapes and Apples to make many of our spirits, and as of today are converting all production to fruit based sanitizers.

We are still awaiting labels and containers, and expect to have product by the middle of next week. We will be keeping the price as low as possible during the State of Emergency.

Dark Island Spirits is proud to join hands (after being sanitized) with Clayton Distillery, to bring these products to our river communities and friends and neighbors in Northern New York.

We will be advising via Social Media when we have product available. Be safe, stay well hydrated, and take Vitamin C.

Brilliant!! 🍕🙌🏻

Sounds of Spring.💚

Volume up! 🐸 Signs of spring are sometimes heard and not seen. That loud, high pitch sleighbell song is a sure sign that warmer weather is on the way and it comes from a Spring Peeper. These tiny frogs are just 1" in length and every spring they congregate in wetland areas where the males will belt out a continuous song. Their diet consists of ants, flies, spiders, and beetles. While they are excellent climbers with large toe pads for the job, they typically spend most of their time on the forest floor. If they hear a human or animal approach they will all go silent simultaneously until they feel the threat has passed. #FirstDayofSpring 💚 Grafton Lakes State Park.
