A small recap of my days “at the beach”. 🤪

It was a cram packed 4 days of training but well worth it. #AlwaysLearning

Such a beautiful day, enjoy the video below from my walk to breakfast at 7:30 this morning. Meanwhile I’ll be in a conference room all day today with site inspections this afternoon. I love what I do and getting to travel to gorgeous locations, but I should have come a day before the conference!!

[04/26/19]   Made it to my final destination!! Excited for this training opportunity in such a beautiful location.

What a beautiful place to spend some time in training. Looking forward to a little down time in the evenings.

[04/25/19]   Whew, first leg is down and plenty of time to make it to the next gate. Where shall we go next??

[04/25/19]   Travel delays happen to us all. So what do you do? I enjoy a nice breakfast at Chili’s and relax. Southwest was great to rebook me on the next flight and now I leave an hour later.

[04/23/19]   Always learning so we can serve you better!!

Remembering the great time we had last summer on our Viking River Cruise in Europe.

What a great news release for Disney, Port of Galveston and cruise lovers! We will keep watching for more announcements in the future as to the length of time Disney will give Galveston a ship. Currently they sail from Galveston from mid November to early January. Would love to have them for longer periods of time!!

The Port of Galveston announced today that it has finalized a new agreement with Disney Cruise Line extending preferential berthing agreement rights at the Port for an additional 10 years with an option to renew for two additional five year periods effective November 1, 2018.

The new agreement outlines plans for a shared cruise terminal that will accommodate a ship equal to or larger than the Disney Magic/Disney Wonder class of vessel. Additionally, it is projected that over the first five years of the potential 20 year agreement, Disney will nearly double its sailings. Disney Cruise Line has orders on the books for three new cruise ships.

“September 22, 2012 marked the first time ever that a Disney Cruise Line ship set sail from the State of Texas with the maiden voyage of Disney Wonder. The Port has been seasonal homeport to both Disney Wonder and Disney Magic ever since. We are thrilled to be able to continue to give Texas and the southwest region of the United States the opportunity to experience Disney cruise vacations from their own backyard,” said Port of Galveston CEO/Port Director, Rodger Rees. “We are proud to be one of the few selected homeports for Disney Cruise Line.”

“Our guests have loved visiting Galveston and setting sail from this historic port to the western Caribbean, Key West and the Bahamas,” said Jeff Vahle, president of Disney Signature Experiences and Disney Cruise Line. “As we plan to expand our fleet and introduce new experiences and entertainment aboard our ships, we couldn’t be more excited to extend our commitment with the Port of Galveston.”

Hospital kicks out cruise ship evacuee who couldn't pay thousands of dollars upfront for surgery

Typically when I recommend travel insurance to clients, they respond with, "Oh, we're going no matter what." That's all well and good, but what are you going to do when a situation happens while you're out of the country? This story is a sad reminder of why travel insurance is so important, and why we recommend it to our clients!

[10/15/18]   Operational Announcement - Rachel

Our internet service is completely down today and we are waiting on AT&T to fix it. Seems to be a complete area wide issue. Unfortunately I will have limited availability today and I apologize for the inconvenience.

[09/29/18]   Time to head home!!! See you soon, Texas.

[09/28/18]   It has been an amazing week of #GetConnected at #CoNexion2018. Up nice and early every morning for information from multiple supplier partners and industry leaders as well as break out sessions on sea days. I’ve been able to make some amazing connections that will help our business grow and be ready for the future. The Harmony of the Seas has been a great home for the conference and I’ve enjoyed sailing her.

In our off time we’ve enjoyed the shows and had some amazing food. I was able to experience Chops, Sabor, Jamie’s, Johnny Rockets and many more. Rubicon, the escape room is so much fun, and we made it out with almost 11 minutes to go!!

If you’re bored on this ship, you’re doing it wrong!

Had a great time at the Mayan Ruins in Cozumel today. Our excursion included a guide, lunch and beach time and then we returned to our ship. Great way to see a part of the island!

[09/27/18]   It’s a beautiful day here in Cozumel and we had a great morning session, at 8 am. 😃

Always great to hear from Alicia Stewart with Carnival Cruise Lines. I appreciate their commitment to the Military and St. Jude. If you didn’t know, on every sailing and every ship, Carnival hosts a military appreciation time in their lounge for all active and retired military personnel. It’s a beautiful time of recognition. They also have some great Military dates if you’ve been thinking of cruising!!

But, this afternoon I’m getting off to explore a part of Mexico I’ve wanted to visit for several years! I’m very excited. More info soon!

[09/26/18]   Always great information from Vicki Freed at #CoNexion2018. Her talks always inspire me and give me things to think about as this company and industry grows.

Some photos around Central Park aboard the Harmony of the Seas. They even have umbrellas stationed in various places in case it rains!

[09/24/18]   The office today has moved to Haiti for a little bit. Had a great conference time this morning with an interesting statistic.

Many times folks have asked me if travel agents really still exist. Here’s some food for thought:

According to research of cruise line passengers and cruise lines themselves, in 2017 there were 28.7 million cruise passengers.

Of those in the family and premium lines, 73% of passengers booked with a travel agent.

Of the luxury cruises booked, 94% of passengers used a travel agent.

[09/23/18]   Up and at ‘em early this Sunday morning. Ready for General Session #1. Lets #GetConnected at #CoNexion2018

Ready to get this week started!!

[09/21/18]   Ready for the next installment of #CoNexion2018!
