Cow happiness is key!

Comfortable cows are happy cows and happy cows produce more milk. That’s what drives CCE Regional Dairy Specialists Betsy Hicks and Lindsay Ferlito, who are teaming up on a research project studying cow comfort in tie stalls at New York State dairy farms. Funded by the New York Farm Viability Institute, the researchers work hand-in-hand with farmers utilizing electronic data loggers to track the animals’ movements and activity then cross reference that data with each cow’s milk production.

Hope you're having a wonderful start to the holiday season too!
