Does Abingdon offer a new comers group? We're approaching retirement. We would love to connect and also get referrals for doctors, dentists, physical therapists and hair dressers. I know that realtors are often a good source for such things. Thank you.
Are there any local vacation rental agencies? Looking for a last minute pet friendly rental for Labor Day weekend and I've exhausted AirBNB and VRBO.
Bandit and Penelope love hiking the Va.Creeper Trail.
Hello! I’m unfamiliar with Abingdon but am meeting family for dinner there this week. Would like a recommendation for a restaurant with outdoor dining that would be appropriate for young children. Something more casual. Thanks!!
The Creeper Trail needs to reopen and we need to move on people needs the outdoors!!
This is an award winning short film about a rescue horse right here in SouthWest Virginia: I truly believe Abingdon can become as prominent, if not more prominent, than Atlanta in the film industry! So I'm trying hard to make that happen- there is so much marvelous potential here! -
Today, Miss Saye Yabandeh and Dr. Matthew Hubbard of Abingdon Ear, Nose, Throat & Allergy discuss the state of the community during COVID19 and what masks to use and when. So, we are planning to leave our home state and move more south. We have three places on our short list to relocate to, and Abingdon is one of them. We are artists, my husband builds guitars, we eat 95% organic food, and are conservative patriots. We THINK Abingdon would be a good fit. Can any residents give your best arguments as to why, or why not, your area is a good place to live? Thanks!

With such a rich history, Abingdon is full of beautiful architecture. The "Hassinger House" was built in 1906 and until recently functioned as the Abingdon Visitor Center. Riders of The Virginia Creeper Trail owe a special thank you to the Hassinger family...their timber and sawmill company in Konnarock, VA is the reason the Virginia Creeper rail line was constructed.

Barter Theatre is the subject of a new story in American Theatre magazine. Founded in 1933 during the Great Depression, Barter had a head start on how to innovate during a crisis.
