Watch this video https://youtu.be/SzFIRFi-44k to see more about Sing Buri area. Please click on our blog for important travel and visa information. http://volunteerinn.blogspot.com/2016/11/volunteer-reviews.html We started our programs because vocational training and other forms of education are much needed in Thailand, especially for the unprivileged youngsters in rural areas. We initiate sharing of ideas by involving participants in Thai cultures, lifestyles, traditions, while staying and involving themselves with the daily life of local villagers. Thai cooking, language, farming, charcoal lessons will also be offered. Main group of the educational activities is poor children (mainly primary school students and also some in secondary schools), as their lives in most instances can be difficult. You don't have to be a teacher! Just a willingness to assist by simply giving students a chance to listen to speak English! Learning by heart, learning grammar, with opportunities to improve conversational skills. Our goal of promoting assistance programs needs people sharing their personal experiences with others who have the desire to exchange ideas and knowledge while exploring the world. Minimum program commitment is 1 week dependent on school schedule. The school year begins in May and ends in February, with a semester break from late September to mid-October. หน้าที่: Welcome everyone to assist in English, art, music, theater, sports, swimming, medical or any talent to benefit children. Reach out to people to contribute their valuable time, talent, and expertise that bring unforgettable moments and a heartwarming and rewarding experience for all participants. Contribute to the rural communities and motivate the local children, families and villagers to get to know the outside world through cultural exchange, hope, strength and joy. Continue our mission to run our programs for our children's children's children. Our promise to support the community Assist the local community through teaching primarily (but not exclusively) English, a skill in high demand in rural Thailand, due to the opportunities it can bring about. Promote education and various kinds of vocational training are much needed in Thailand, especially in the rural areas and for unprivileged youngsters. Through education, children and villagers feel empowered and get motivated to get to know the outside world. Education projects have a special impact on Thai youth as they represent a motivation to study more and to acquire experience at international level. Encouraged participants to organize various fun and informal teaching activities and to promote outdoor learning through games and activities in the garden. Expand our existing space where the children can learn while being themselves, having fun and feeling safe and comfortable. Community support and development works like, construction, renovation, and general labour depending on the needs of the village. Participants will experience a cultural exchange, have fun (sanuk) together and learn more about each other's cultures and set a good basis for future activities. Work with schools, governments, charities or any affiliate groups that share a similar mission. Main floor have access ramps and larger doors for people with mobility issues. Our promise to sustain the environment We currently have installed three (3) x One thousand (1,000) liter tanks that first filter grey water from the bathroom and kitchen sinks by use of bio balls and other organic materials. This recycled water is then used to water our mango, lime and rice field located directly behind our property. Rain water when available is being channeled into concrete holding wells for use during the dry season. All washroom toilet waste goes directly into a holding tank that is pumped out when full. All of the lights at our facility are energy saving and the appliances are a 5 out of 5 rating as indicated by the manufacturer for energy efficiency. We do our very best to go through the facility to ensure all unnecessary lights are turned off. The use of fans over air conditioning is recommended to guests when ever possible. Air conditioners are serviced and cleaned on a regular basis to ensure they are running effectively. Guests are asked to re-use their bathroom towels more than once if they feel comfortable to do so. Drying of all home and guesthouse laundry is simply hung outside to dry during the day. Installation of glass block in almost every room and outside wall will save electricity use as the light from one location is shared with at least one other. The need to turn on lights from room to room at night has almost been eliminated. We use as many LED garden lights at night and our future goal is to have solar power. We have made application for recommendations in making our location as self sufficient as possibly within our budget. PRODUCTS Voluntour Project (T): Assisting in local temple schools in rural communities by improving their English language skills. Participants will exchange ideas while studying the Thai cultures, lifestyles, traditions, staying and involving themselves with the daily life of villagers. Individuals are needed to assist the local community through teaching mostly English, which is a skill in high demand in the rural areas Thailand. These areas usually do not have the funding to pay for fully qualified English teachers. Knowing a second language such as English gives locals here many opportunities. Vocational training and other forms of education are much needed in Thailand, especially for the unprivileged youngsters in rural areas. We mainly focus our attention on primary and secondary school students as well as villagers and adults who would like to learn English. Education empowers, motivates and gives confidence to people to discover what the world has to offer. We encourage fun and informal teaching activities and are currently working on our own outdoor learning facility. It is important for children to have a safe place to have fun, be themselves and learn through different activities inside and out with our volunteers. Life for many children in Thailand can be difficult. Volunteers show that there are people who care and can make a difference. Thailand Teach http://goo.gl/JFJDwQ http://www.volunteerinn.net/

About Thailand Teach

Our CBO Community Based Organization of volunteer teachers, local people, our family and virtual supporters. Everyone is welcome to experience how “Voluntouring changes your world”

Programs we currently offer directly are - Childcare - Local community service and assistance -
Construction and renovation - Thai Mud hut experience - Farming - Temple school assistant in English or any skill you are comfortable to share.

We are now looking for ways to improve the quality of life of people deprived of opportunities. Hoping to find companies that provides the people in the project area with education, proper infrastructure, and legitimate ways to earn their living.

Thailand Teach is a social enterprise whose purpose is to create new freedoms for rural and farm families so they can enjoy a better future.

Volunteers when available take care of all the administration, service, support and communications.

There are 6 people living in the main house. Our boys Ta (15), Nick (8), our daughter Toon (12),
their mother Pooh, Pooh's Mother and myself.

The two story guest house is separate from the family home approximately 15 feet away and can easily accommodate 6 to 8 people. There are two bedrooms upstairs with a shared 2 piece washroom.

Our other building should be completed later this year and can house another 8 to 10 people.

Main floor has a guest room adjoining the kitchen that was designed for guests who have difficulty
with mobility and another shared 3 piece washroom.
Some frequently asked questions.

What will be expected from me as a program participant?

The ability to listen, adapt and be flexible in all situations. There are always things that come up beyond anyone's control.

Unrelenting energy, good health and belief in what you are doing.

Accept and deal with in a reasonable manner the cultural differences and gaps in communication.

Depending where you are coming from, the heat, humidity, types of foods and other variables can be physically exhausting.

Realization that food you are accustom to is either very expensive or simply not available in rural areas of Thailand.

Creative, good imagination, humour and a level of passion and excitement.

Do not let things get you down easily.

Integrity, honesty and sincerity to the organization, community and others.

Ability to give all of yourself with no expectations of anything in return.

English speaking background is helpful but not a requirement.

Ability to ask any questions before and during your stay. We are here to assist you but need to deal with any issues you may have as they happen.

Clean up after yourself as you are sharing the facilities with others.

Completed application understanding the information, recommendations, requirements and costs.

What is required from me and what type of activities would I be involved in?

Temple school, childcare and monk program are very similar when it comes to assisting and/or teaching English and other activities. Activities is very similar to a regular K to 6 temple grade school or high school. Classes are 2 x 1 hours in the morning and 1 or 2 hour
classes in the afternoon depending on how you are feeling.

Your involvement depending on your comfort level would be the same as the locals at the program.
We ask participants in these programs to prepare at least two or three lesson plans for stays of 1 to 2 weeks. Longer stays allow you to have a better understanding and make things up as you go.

Childcare is simply assisting local child care providers of children ages 2 to 5 years old.
You are welcome to participate in anything else you choose at the temple childcare and schools.

Renovation, Construction, Farming and Thai Mud Hut projects are limited to all jobs where non powered hand tools, light lifting and work on a small ladder or scaffolding. Activities range from helping out the elderly with small repair jobs to joining in with the locals on a community program construction and home building site. Light construction is usually work with concrete, bricks and wood. Renovations are clean up, prep work and painting.

Most important activity is the cultural exchange and interaction with the local community.
Realistically no one from our local area will ever have the chance to venture outside their own backyards. Your selfless act to share your time in their backyards is the real involvement.

Simple acts have the most lasting impact on their views and allows a true visions of others from different parts of the world.

How long are your programs and can I choose more than one?

We are very flexible to accommodate people who are interested in the many activities.

Programs are a minimum 1 week commitment and subject to availability.
They are 7 days and 6 nights in duration usually starting Sunday and ending Saturday.

Keeping things to a minimum allows you the flexibility to organize your own activities at local Thai prices. We assist as much or as little to suite your comfort level.

Interested in - Beach Holiday - Jungle Trekking - Thai Cycling Tour - Hill tribe Immersion - Thai Buddhism & Culture - Animal programs like Elephant, monkey etc.
- Diving or any adventure? Easy to recommend or assist you with.

For example you would like to do 1 week Teaching, 1 week Thai Mud hut or Construction, 1 week Jungle trekking and one week on my own. First we ensure there is availability and if the program supplier is not us inform you of what is required and any additional fees.

All Inclusive programs for people who prefer everything done for them is easy for us to provide.

We are well connected to other CBO's, organizations and groups throughout Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam.

We ask everyone to be at our location no later than Sunday to prepare for their first program.
Monday is the start date and usually conclude mid day on Friday. As your weekends are free you are able to leave in the afternoon to take optional tours you want to plan. That way depending on distance and schedule you can start your adventure early.

What about ?????????

Understand you will have many more questions and we are available to answer them all. Feel free to contact us directly by e-mail – [email protected] or [email protected]

We share the vision of global volunteering and assisting anyone is our commitment in that goal.

All the best,

Robert and Pooh Newton

Voluntouring and intercultural travel share a common trait: the more you put into it, the more you get out of it. These programs are designed for proactive individuals and groups. Naturally, the scheduling and activities of our program are subject to change. At times, alterations in activities are due to changes in local conditions. This can be part of what makes overseas programs the interesting adventure and incredible learning experience that it is.

*** Note: Thailand is a tropical country with occasional violent storms, heavy rains and floods. During such times, so schedules may be subject to change. ***

Experience the effects of cross-cultural values, heritage, activities, and life in a different country. People teach, not schools so educational travel is a good way to connect, respect and experience personal growth exploring the world.

Everyone is welcome to contribute their valuable time, talent, and expertise in Art, music, theater, sports, swimming, English, medical or any talent to benefit children and our rural community.
