Los machos bailan y cantan para impresionar a la hembra. La hembra entra el baile para escojer su pareja. Esperemos que disfruten... Here just to close of the weekend, we leave you a little gift. Mas por Menos finds it important to offer a tour to its clients and therefor we always are investigating new sights. Today we walked on new trails close to Masaya to monitor the flora and fauna. We found these Toledos(chiroxiphia linearis). Two males and a female. The two males dance and sing to impress the female. The female joins the dance to choice her partner. We hope you enjoy.
Just a few seconds to enjoy this beautiful species. Their very active foraging behavior appears to be interrelated with their distinctive social organization. Exceptional among procyonids, coatis are diurnal and for much of the year gregarious. Though females nest, and bear and nurse their young in isolation, shortly after the altricial young become mobile the females aggregate into social groups known as bands. Bands consist of adult females (two or more years old), and sub-adults (1–2 years old) and juveniles (less than 1 year old) of both sexes. At maturity, at two years of age, males are excluded from bands and take up a solitary lifestyle. They are aggressively repelled from bands, except during the mating season when typically one male ingratiates himself to a band through submissive behavior, forages with it for a period of a few weeks, and mates with all of the adult females Nasua narica, White nosed Coati
And friends Mas por menos we share them a gift of nature ... nothing beats walking along a path and witness everything that happens in a different world from ours, but we can find and understand if we in the right place and the right time.
Punta Jesus Maria, Ometepe IslandPrint Punta Jesus Maria is a narrow spit of land, formed by water currents and sediments. Punta Jesus Maria Ometepe Island In some years during dry season the sand bank juts into the lake for more than 1 km and you can walk to the tip with the water splashing in from both sides. Often there are groups of sea birds resting on the sand. From the land spit you have a panoramic view of Isla Ometepe with its two volcanoes. A third volcano, the Mombacho, can be seen across the lake on the mainland of Nicaragua. The curve of beach at Punta Jesus Maria, with its calm and shallow water, is nice for swimming and bathing. A small (ramshack) bar sells cold drinks, you can watch scenic sunsets and it's also allowed to pitch a tent for an overnight stay. Punta Jesus Maria is a nice half-day trip by bicycle from Moyogalpa or Charco Verde. The turnoff to the beach is 4 km south of Moyogalpa, or 6 km from Charco Verde /San José. Watch out for the billboard which signals the entrance of the 1.5 km alley down to the lake.
