On the corner of ‘de Groenplaats’ and the Big Market, the designer shops and the ‘Kloosterstraat’, known for its antique en curiosa. The ideal spot to discover Antwerp! It's location, a charming little square in the very center of Antwerp (fashion district area) is literally around the corner of everything you want to see in this beautifull city. aplace antwerp has 2 large suites and 2 city flats: Both suites and flats have been completely renovated since december 2012. They are decorated in vintage style combined with a few new objects which quarantees you a warm and cosy homefeeling: - The suites both have a sitting corner with sofa, digital tv, a docking station, dvd-player, a shared kitchinette with Illy espresso machine, a perculator and a little fridge. The bathroom has a walk-in / rainshower. One of them has an amazing square view, the large windows offers you a postcard view at night. The second suite is situated in the back of the building and is extremely cosy. - Both flats have a fully equipped kitchen, a brown marble bathroom with tub/rainshower, a seperate restroom, a very bright and cosy living room and 2 bedrooms. The view on the Vrijdagmarkt is amazing, The large windows offers you a postcard view at night. De Vrijdagmarkt is a quiet square that hasn’t been discovered by the big audience yet and ideal to meet local Antwerp people. Very unique and traditonal is the weekly auction on - fridays - on the ‘Vrijdagmarkt’. Here you can buy for a cheap price exclusive, retro and sometimes even valuable objects. On this square you’ll also find the world famous Plantin-Moretus museum. The only printing/publisher in the world from the Renaissances and baroque time which has kept remained. In the ‘Nationalestraat’ (= around the corner) and in the neighbourhood you can spend your money in various designer shops of famous Antwerp and international designers. In 2011 I went to the bank fierce and full of courage (and wearing my flip flops - minor detail) to ask for the financing of my dream. Strangely enough, they believed in my project and in me - Thank you KBC :)
I carefully collected objects with a soul and I passionately enjoyed this very fulfilling creative process. In the meantime, renovations were started on Vrijdagmarkt 1 - every detail counted there to create the right unique atmosphere in this building on this lovely, beautiful square in the center of fashion district Antwerp.
Ever since, thousands of guests from all over the world have passed the aplace/antwerp threshold - including many of you. You most probably all remember the wonderful scent when you enter and the nostalgic sweets that I often have to refill.
You appreciate my warm welcome, but I especially enjoy your heartwarming farewell messages and often your small gifts.
Since 2011 this has been for me like non-stop fun - an addiction that I was not aware of - till recently. I missed you so much during these quiet past months when the apartments and suites were waiting in silence for their lovely and kind guests.
With great joy I therefore announce that from tonight 22h it will be possible to book your favorite apartment or suite again. There are only 2 suites and ditto apartments in the aplace building, so be quick.

In 2011 trok ik mijn stoute teenslippers aan en ging ik bij de bank aankloppen om de financiering van mijn droom te vragen. Gek genoeg geloofden ze in mijn project en in mij - Dankuwel KBC :)
Nauwgezet verzamelde ik stuk voor stuk objecten met een ziel en ik heb vol passie genoten van dit zeer vervullend creatief proces. Ondertussen werden de verbouwingen op de Vrijdagmarkt 1 ingezet - ook daar telde elk detail om de juiste unieke sfeer op dit lieve mooie plein te creëren.
Sindsdien hebben duizenden wereldse gasten de aplace/antwerp drempel gepasseerd - waaronder velen van jullie. Allemaal herinneren jullie je vast wel de heerlijke geur bij het binnenkomen en de nostalgische snoepjes die ik toch wel vaak moet bijvullen.
Jullie waarderen mijn warm welkom maar ikzelf geniet dan vooral van jullie hartverwarmende afscheidsberichtjes en vaak ook klein attenties.
Sinds 2011 was dit voor mij dit non-stop plezier - een verslaving waarvan ik mij niet bewust was - tot op heden. Ik heb jullie zo gemist tijdens deze stille voorbije maanden waar de appartementen en de suites in stilte wachtten op hun verfijnde fijne gasten.
Met grote vreugde kondig ik dus aan dat vanaf vanavond 22u het terug mogelijk is om je favoriete appartement of kamer te boeken. Er zijn maar 2 kamers en dito appartemente, dus wees snel. Overweeg je een vakantie in eigen land of zelfs in eigen stad of daal je graag nog eens af uit Nederland - het kan weer!
Ik kijk er super hard naar uit jullie terug te zien.
