There would hardly be anyone who would not agree with the statement that Armenia is more attractive and beautiful with its undiscovered miracles. Every corner of Armenia has its own history – a legend, a myth connected with it.
Khndzoresk village (located in the South-East of Armenia, marz Syunik) is not an exception. In 2012 thanks to the efforts of Khndzoresk residents a swinging bridge was opened.
The amazing thing about the bridge is that it was constructed by the residents of the village, with their own hands and no machinery was used for the construction, and even for the transportation of materials (they used horses). Everyone would agree that this is a very brave and patriotic act. The aim was perhaps to preserve the natural and historical heritage of their hometown, as the new bridge can help you see, feel, hear, learn and experience many things about ancient times.

American news outlets have also been reluctant to use the word “genocide” to describe Turkey’s crimes. The phrase “Armenian genocide” did not appear in the New York Times until 2004.
The date 24 April commemorates the deportation of Armenian intellectuals on 24 April 1915 from Constantinople (current Istanbul, Turkey). The first commemoration, organized by a group of Armenian Genocide survivors, was held in Istanbul in 1919 at the local St. Trinity Armenian church. Many prominent figures in the Armenian community participated in the commemoration. Following its initial commemoration in 1919, the date became the annual day of remembrance for the Armenian Genocide
Another interpretation brought forth in 1893 refers to the Urartian settlement called “Eriani,” which was inhabited by “Eri” people. This assumption was later refused, because it turned out the Eri people lived in the region of Shirak.
Yerevan’s one of the ancient cities in the world. And the naming of the city is interpreted in various interesting ways.
One interpretation refers to Noah and his ark. According to it, Noah’s ark landed on Masis and as he came out of it, he saw the place of the city of Yerevan. In this regard, the name Yerevan has been related to the Armenian word “yereval” (երևալ) meaning “to be seen.”
An inscription discovered in 1950 serves as a proof the city was founded by Argishti I and was first called Erebuni and only in the course of time came to be known as Yerevan.
Lying in Ararat Valley Yerevan has passed a long way full of invasions and ups and downs. Nevertheless, the city has managed to survive and today with every other day it’s getting more and more beautiful, advanced and up to date.
